WriteAtHome for Sage Oak
WriteAtHome has a variety of English and history options for Sage Oak students. Whether you’re looking for a Great Books A-G English course, you just want someone to coach your student through a research paper, or something in between, we have an option that meets your needs.
Once you know what classes you want your student to take, submit the Schools Enrollment Form to reserve their spot. Once we receive the Sage Oak purchase order, your student will be enrolled in their courses. Fill out one form per student.
Great Books A-G English Courses
Our A-G English courses combine an annual WriteAtHome writing course, a literature course, and two additional projects to align with the California A-G English requirements (B).
All courses are online. Literature is available in two versions: Live and Self-paced (asynchronous).

WriteAtHome A-G English courses require approximately 6-8 hours of work per week. This estimate includes assignments and class time and will vary depending on the student and on each week’s assignments.
*Not included in self-paced literature courses. (a weekly recorded lecture is provided in lieu of live class sessions)
**The reading schedule is designed to require approximately one hour per day for four days each week.
In addition to the traditional WriteAtHome writing and literature course work, students wanting an A-G course need to complete two projects included in the Modules section of each literature course. These will be submitted to and graded by the student’s Sage Oak teacher.

WRITING COURSES FOR GRADES 6-12
WriteAtHome offers online, asynchronous annual and semester courses as well as 8-week writing workshops for students in grades 6-12.
All of our courses provide:
feedback on all papers from expert writing coaches
weekly lessons, writing assignments, and quizzes
an assessment score on the final draft of each paper
parent dashboards to easily monitor your student’s progress

LITERATURE COURSES FOR GRADES 6 - 12
WriteAtHome literature classes meet online once per week for lecture and discussion, high school literature 1-4 also comes in a self-paced version. Our literature courses can be taken by themselves, combined with a writing or history class, or as part of an A-G English course. (See links above for book lists and syllabi.)
Each week, students:
complete the assigned reading*
take a short online comprehension quiz
answer an online discussion question (not included in self-paced courses)
attend a one-hour, live class session by webinar (unless they are taking the self-paced version)
In addition, students must submit two literary analysis papers and one creative project during the year.

HISTORY COURSES FOR GRADES 8-12
History 1-4 classes meet online via Zoom weekly. Our history classes pair with our Lit 1-4 classes providing students with a great overview of literature and history from each era. Students will be challenged to bring to bear logic, and imagination, to distinguish cause and effect, motivation and action, and discern ideas and events. Click here to learn more.

Class is limited to 50 students per class.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS: GRADES 4 & 5
Our annual English Language Arts classes will meet online once a week for an hour, and students will be given work to complete at home.
These classes will combine literature, writing, and grammar to provide a full English Language Arts experience for your students. To learn more, click here.

How to Enroll Sage Oak Students:
Follow school procedures to request a purchase order to enroll your students.
Click here to fill out an enrollment information form. Submitting this form does not officially enroll your student, but it does provide us the information we need to enroll them quickly once we receive the PO.
If you want the student enrolled in the A-G version of our courses, please indicate that on the enrollment form and the purchase order.
Once we receive the Sage Oak purchase order, your student will be enrolled, and both the parent and student will receive a confirmation email from us with information about getting started.
