I am always busy — reading, writing, making, and exploring.  I have a master’s in education and a graduate certificate in children's literature and have taught in many settings including a traditional and academically gifted classroom, a school for the severely handicapped, the local community college, and homeschooling and community-based programs. (My children were homeschooled until they entered college.) Currently, I coach middle school writing students and it’s the best! My writing credits include writing, math, and science curriculum, a book about alternative careers in sports, and an article and book about new technology in textile science (think clothing that “washes” itself in the sunshine and real invisibility cloaks). I live in semi-rural Maine, a quick drive to the ocean, and love it, even if my toes stay cold most of the winter. My office assistant, Smudge, is a very fluffy black and white cat that loves WriteAtHome, mostly because I work at the computer long enough for her to have a long nap on my lap, but she also loves for me to read papers out loud.
